Welcome to the Blue Shed Cafe!

Torrin, Elgol Road, Isle of Skye

History of the Blue Shed.

How to find us.

When visiting the Isle of Skye, why not take time for a visit to Torrin, home of the Blue Shed Cafe? Six miles out of Broadford, on the road to Elgol, we serve delicious home-baking, filled rolls, home-made soup and hot and cold drinks. Nestling near the head of Loch Slapin, a narrow sea loch in South-West Skye, the cafe overlooks part of the world famous Cuillin mountain range, including Blaven [Bla Bheinn].Our cafe is ideally situated to refresh hungry walkers and those simply wishing to linger a while and take in the stunning scenery. We also sell a selection of gifts, cards and framed photographs to remind you of your stay on Skye.

The Blue Shed Cafe began its life as a community shop in the picturesque crofting community of Torrin, funded by the John Muir Trust, Highland Council and HIghlands and Islands Enterprise. The Torrin management committee opened 'Am Bothan' [Gaelic for small hut or shed] in 2001.

It was renamed The Blue Shed Cafe in 2005 and ran successfully as a cafe/shop for 3 years providing the local population and visitors with essential groceries, drinks, cakes and sandwiches in a great setting, overloking Loch Slapin and Blaven mountain.

The new proprietors, Justine & Antony Davies, aim to continue to build on this success, providing delicious home-baked food, hot and cold drinks, reviving soups and tasty filled rolls.
